But the moment he stepped out of his official bulletproof vehicle along with his service rifle, a barrage of bullets were fired by the terrorist. One ricocheted from the butt of his service rifle and hit his liver and duodenum.


Arshid Ahmad Khan who was critically injured in a terror attack in Anantnag on 12th of June attained martyrdom today.

He had sustained grievous gunshot injuries while repulsing a terror attack on KP Road Anantnag. He bravely fought against the terrorist which resulted in the killing of one terrorist.

Arshad Khan was induced into police services in the year 2002 and was presently posted as SHO Anantnag. In his late thirties, he was known for his simplicity, plain speaking and thorough professionalism and had earned reputation for his determination and valour. In his service tenure, he had gained trust and appreciation of the community members for his helpful nature and professionalism.

Martyr Arshid Khan is survived by parents, wife Neelofar, 5 year-old son Abuhan Khan and 2 year-old son Danim Khan. Besides he was also supporting one unmarried brother.
